New Years Eve Danube Cruise
For bowing out the Old Year, and welcoming in the New, what could be a more fitting venue than our MS AMADEUS CLASSIC? Celebrate the New Year during an unforgettable trip through Germany, Austria and Hungary and visit famous cities along the Danube such as Passau, Vienna and Budapest.

Day 1

Embarkation at the city of  Passau – where three rivers meet – from which the vessel departs at 6.00 p.m. She then sails through a scenically charming stretch of the Danube – the “Schlögener Schlinge”.  After these initial scenic impressions our cruise managers invite you to take a welcome cocktail before our welcome dinner.
Day 2

The ship ties up in the port of Vienna at about 1.00 p.m., leaving the whole of the rest of the day for you to enjoy in this Danube metropolis. A city of music and joie de vivre, and one that is equally well known for its rich chocolate cake and new wines as for St. Stephen’s cathedral and the Hofburg palace. Absorb all the important sights on our Vienna sightseeing tour, or explore this richly traditional city under your own steam. The ship leaves the port of Vienna at 6.00 p.m., and heads for Budapest.

Day 3

The vessel reaches Hungary’s capital, Budapest, during the morning. Arriving there by this means gives passengers a truly memorable view of the imposing buildings on the right and left banks of the Danube.  In the afternoon our Budapest sightseeing tour offers you an opportunity to get to know all the sights of this city. The highlight of this cruise is, of course, our New Year’s Eve party aboard the ship. Enjoy an unforgettable "Illuminated cruise through Budapest" along the Danube aboard the ship, with fine views of the brightly illuminated buildings on both sides of the river.  The evening begins with a gala dinner in the restaurant, after which comes the New Year’s Eve party in the Panorama bar.  See the New Year in a different setting and in an unusual way, and dance with us into the New Year.

Day 4

This morning features a substantial ‘anti-hangover’ breakfast so that everyone is fortified after the rigours of a long New Year’s Eve!  The ship casts off from Budapest at about 1pm. Enjoy the whole day aboard the ship as the wonderful winter landscapes float past you.

Day 5

Your ship docks in the Slovakian capital of Bratislava while you breakfast in the Panorama restaurant – and then the sightseeing tour begins right away, giving you an opportunity to get to know this city better. In the afternoon you have a chance to explore it for yourself before the ship casts off again, at 7.00 p.m., heading upstream to Austria. the captain  invites you to his captain gala dinner. The excellent orchestra, which has entertained you in the bar throughout the whole Danube cruise, will not fail to inspire most passengers to round off their cruise on the dance floor

Day 6 In the morning the vessel passes by Dürnstein, the world famous little town in the Wachau, and ties up in Melk/Emmersdorf at about 12.00 a.m. From here you can join our optional excursion to the imposing Benedictine abbey of Melk – one of Europe’s largest monasteries.  At about 5.30 p.m. the cruise continues through the picturesque regions of the Nibelungen and Strudengau.
Day 7

Arrival in the three rivers city of Passau at about 9.30 a.m.  Disembarkation by about 10.00 a.m. End of the cruise
