DAY 1: SUNDAY
Frankfurt – Heidelberg – Black Forest (D)

Depart from Frankfurt in the morning and drive to Heidelberg for a walking tour of the old university town.
Our next stop is one of the most famous and beautiful Spa resorts – Baden-Baden. In the afternoon continue to the Black Forest, a region known for the cuckoo clocks. Welcome dinner in the evening at your hotel. Overnight at Hotel Schwarzwald Residenz Triberg o.s.

DAY 2: MONDAY
Black Forest – Lindau – Lake Constance – Neuschwanstein – Fuessen (B)

After breakfast depart for Lake Constance. Enjoy a walking tour in the picturesque island town of Lindau.
Move into the Allgäu, viewing the fantastic Bavarian Alps. In Hohenschwangau we visit the fairytale castle of King Ludwig II, Neuschwanstein. Overnight at TREFF Hotel Luitpoldpark Fuessen o.s.

DAY 3: TUESDAY
Fuessen – Oberammergau – Ettal – Munich (B)

This morning we drive to Oberammergau, home of the famous Passion Play which takes place every 10 years.
Stop at the Benedictine Monastery of Ettal. On to Munich. Enjoy an extensive city tour ending at the romantic
Christmas Market. Enjoy some time of exploring and shopping. Overnight at Hotel Erzgießerei Europe o. s.

DAY 4: WEDNESDAY
Munich – Salzburg – Munich (B)

Today enjoy our full day excursion to the city where the famous composer Mozart was born – Salzburg. Walking tour through the Old Town. See the most important sights like Mozart’s birthplace, the Getreidegasse, the cathedral and much more. You will have enough time to spend on your own, strolling around, visit the beautiful Christmas market and of course you will have to taste the most famous sweets made in Salzburg, the Mozartkugeln. In the late afternoon return to Munich.

DAY 5: THURSDAY
Munich – Rothenburg – Nuremberg (B)

After breakfast drive incl. some stops along the Romantic Road to Rothenburg, Germany’s well reserved
“Jewel of the Middle Ages”. After a walking tour incl. the Jakobskirche (church) with an altar by Tilman
Riemenschneider enjoy the Christmas market. Do not miss the opportunity to visit the world famous Christmas
shop. In the afternoon we go on to Nuremberg. Overnight at DERAG Hotel Maximilian Nuernberg o.s.

DAY 6: FRIDAY
Nuremberg (B/D)

Today join a visit of the "Christkindl Market", probably the most famous Christmas market of the world in the historic city of Nuremberg. On a city walk you see the main sights such as the home of the artist Duerer. Visit the medieval Kaiserburg Castle before you have the rest of the day free for the Christmas market and for shopping. In the evening enjoy a Christmas dinner in one of the typical restaurants and get a little Christmas gift.

DAY 7: SATURDAY
Nuremberg – Wuerzburg – Frankfurt (B)

In the morning we leave for Wuerzburg. Enjoy a tour of the magnificent Residence, a masterpiece of German
baroque architecture and a last visit to a German Christmas market. Arrival in Frankfurt in the afternoon. Overnight.



DAY 8: SUNDAY
Frankfurt – Erfurt – Leipzig (D)

Depart from Frankfurt in the morning and drive eastward to our first stop in Eisenach, dominated by the Wartburg Castle. Visit one of the most important edifices of German history and see the room in which Luther worked and spent the last years of his seclusion. Continue via Weimar to Leipzig where after the check-in at your hotel we will visit one of Germany’s largest Christmas markets. The main attractions are located on the historical market square in front of the ancient town hall. Marvel at the 25 yard Christmas tree with its thousands of lights or stroll along the stalls with handcrafted Christmas gifts from the region. We invite you to a very informal German style snack with Bratwurst and mulled wine at one of the numerous food stalls. Overnight at Hotel Tulip Inn Leipzig o.s.

DAY 9: MONDAY
Leipzig – Meißen – Dresden (B)

In themorningwe continue towardsMeißenwherewe visit one of Germany’s oldest porcelainmanufactories. Founded in the 18th century and being continuously in operation since then, the delicate and always handcrafted products are found in royal courts and celebrities homes all around theworld. Meißen is proud to be able to restore or remanufacture on demand all ever produced designs as the negative plaster models have been preserved throughout the centuries. See the exhibition hall and the demonstration workshops where all steps of the painting and glazing process are explained to you. Afterwardswe continue onward to Dresden. After a city tour, highlighting its important sights like the restored Frauenkirche, the Semper Opera House, the baroque Zwinger, the Green Vault andmanymore,we check-in at our hotel. In the eveningwewill visit the Christmasmarket in Dresdenwhich is named “Striezelmarkt” according to the local cake speciality, the “Christstollen“ or “Striezel”. Attractions are themore than 16 yard Christmas pyramid and the numerous stalls atwhich you can taste the Striezel. Overnight at Steigenberger Parkhotel Dresden-Radebeul o.s.

DAY 10: TUESDAY
Dresden – Annaberg – Schneeberg – Plauen (B/ D)

Today after breakfast we are heading mostly along country roads to visit two ancient miner-villages named 13 Christmas feeling with real candles shining in the evening. Purchase handcrafted Christmas pyramids directly from the woodcarvers. Schneeberg and Annaberg. These villages are typical for the Erzgebirge (Ore Mountains) and actually home of the German tradition of woodcarving and Christmas pyramids. In former times light – represented by candles – was an important symbol of life and safety for the miners, working in the dark tunnels. Thus, the woodcarvers combined their deep religious beliefs and used candles to illuminate the pyramids with saints and symbols from the holy night like shepherds, donkey and ox. The Christmas market in Annaberg is dating back to 1510. The main attraction of Schneeberg, besides its Christmas market, is St. Wolfgang’s Church with an altar from 1539 carved by Lucas Cranach the Elder. In the afternoon we continue towards Plauen, a city famous for its handcrafted lace. Plauen was founded in 1122 and since the 16th century an important place for cotton manufacturing. A farewell dinner will be served in your hotel. Overnight at Hotel Alexandra Plauen o.s.

DAY 11: WEDNESDAY
Plauen – Bamberg – Frankfurt (B)

On the last day of the tour we are travelling through the Franconian forest to the imperial city of Bamberg. The city, founded in the 9th century, has a nicely preserved Old Town which was declared UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will see the cathedral and the former Benedictine abbey of Michaelsberg. Last impressions of German Christmas markets in the pedestrian zone around the cathedral – host of the Bamberg Christmas market. Time for last-minute shopping. Afterwards through the rolling hills of Franconia until we reach our final destination Frankfurt in the late afternoon.
